What Happened
Jesus’ Resurrection was Foretold
– Women came to anoint the body (Mark 16:1-2)
– The women assumed the body had been taken – not raised (John 20:2)
– The women tell the disciples, who don’t believe them (Luke 24:10-11)
– The Jewish leaders guard and secure the tomb (Matt. 27:62-68)
Jesus’ Resurrection was Accomplished
– Jesus was raised physically (Luke 24:39)
– Jesus was raised eternally (Romans 6:9)
Jesus’ Resurrection was Witnessed
– By Women
– By the disciples
– By the guards (Matt. 28:11-15)

What It Means
- Our Resurrection was Secured (1 Cor. 15:20-22, Romans 6:5, 1 Cor. 6:14)
- Our Fear of death was Removed (Hebrews 2:14-15, 1 Cor. 15:54-57)
- Our fight against sin was empowered (Romans 8:11, Eph. 1:19-21)
